How is it already February? It's so crazy how fast time flies! I can hardly believe that in a week I'll be turning 19. Yikes, when did that happen? I was still adjusting to the whole 18 thing.
So for this month, there are usually a lot of mixed feelings. There are those who are happily in love and get to have an excuse to show their significant other just how much they love them. Then there are the rest, who are like me, and are single this time of year. Forever alone syndrome sets in. Oh joy.
Haha, not to say I'm not happy for those who are lucky in love, but man...it can get depressing as a single girl on Valentine's Day! I guess it got to my dark outfit too, although I added a romantic touch with the new, floral jeans. These babies are from Target, and my oh my...I just love them. I've been investing in more denim lately, and I love the way a good print or color can perk these basics up. Plus, I went to a local dollar store and bought a few pairs of colored knee socks - they are the perfect way to add a cool touch to every look! These grey ones were scrunched down so they just barely peeked out of my combat boots, and I feel that's just what this simple look needed.
What usually gets forgotten this time of year is that there are all forms of love. A boyfriend/husband is not the only way you receive love! I'm so blessed to have a few, close friends and a family that supplies me with a never ending flow of love. Plus, there's the unconditional love from my heavenly Father that continually amazes me.

V-day is no special for me . It can be calledd forever alone day. I heard a quote that love is a misunderstanding between two foolish people. The author said this line cause of any reason!

Those dark floral jeans seem so very you-I love them! And you were right-the socks were the perfect addition to this, it adds another element of visual interest to this cozy/chic ensemble!
Also, honestly having a guy on Valentine's Day isn't really that big of a deal. I used to think it was, until I got married and then I found out that whole romanticized image we see in silly movies is just a facade. We'll probably just take a nap or something on Valentine's Day, bahaha.

Gettin' so old! You'll be just as old as me, and then we can walk around with canes together and hit young whippersnappers with them. So much better than a loving relationship. Haha, don't get too sad over Valentine's Day! It's just something made by Hallmark to make moolah. ;)

i'm glad you have great friends to spend vday with... even with a hubby, i don't really think we're doing anything this year considering how pregnant i am right now... have fun!!!!!
Valentine's will probably be a regular workday for me.. at least right now I think so but we'll see, there's so much time left till it comes :) btw, I remember the feeling of being alone that day.. it was certainly not the best one but you have to make it nice for yourself and there's always a possibility to meet someone new.. that day or some other day ;) oh and those floral pants indeed are super cute!

Don't let Valentine's Day get you down. I like to think of V-Day as a day of unconditional love. Love your neighbors, your enemies, your family and friends. But most of all love yourself! Treat yourself to something special, or buy yourself some flowers. Sounds good to me. :)

I was always single when it would roll around to v-day but it was always nice not having any stress that time of year. My family would get together and just eat a ton of food and go play in the snow. (Hah, any excuse to have a big food party!) I do think valentine's day is more than celebrating love in the romantic sense, as you mentioned, it's a great time to celebrate all of the love in your life. (Why isn't there a national family day or something? that would be fun!) I hope you and your friends and family get to have a great time, it's so nice just getting to hang out sometimes. (Plus, v-day's almost like Halloween, another day for candy!)
I like how you have such an eye for the darker colors and mixing sweet items with rougher elements. I love this pair of boots so much and you always create such great outfits around them. (The darker floral print is really cool on the pants! I remember how those h&m floral pants were really popular at the beginning of the whole print denim trend but the brights don't seem nearly as wearable as the darker prints. These pants are just killer!)

I'm not a very big Valentines girl. Even though I have a boyfriend and we have celebrated together for the past 5 or 6 years (I think I've lost track ha), it always seems to be a normal day that is surrounded by hype. When I was younger, I used to get really sad when Valentines day didn't go as planned (for example, one year we had big plans to make dinner and I got sick, so plans fell through). Now that I'm older, I definitely agree with you on the idea that it should be a day to celebrate all forms of love in your life! Linda, you are wise beyond your years and I so wish I had your wisdom when I was your age!!!!

I saw those at Target and I was loving the darker florals. They look great on you! And I love your hair blowing in the wind. It looks so pretty. :) If it makes you feel better, my Valentine's days were always spent alone until I met my husband 6 years ago. And you don't need a man.
